Calepsin Prong Collar – This is a collar comprised of metal prongs that are linked together. Calepsin When pressure is applied to the collar with the leash, calepsin the dog receives a slight pinch on their neck. Calepsin This pinch doesn’t hurt the dog, calepsin as it has been designed to replicate the effect the mother dog’s teeth would have on her pup as she picked him/her up by the scruff of the neck. Calepsin There is a correct way to apply the prong collar, calepsin which should be learned before being used on a dog.
Calepsin The prong collar is not recommended for dogs that have a tendency to pull on the leash, calepsin and is a little extreme for Puggle training as they are only small dogs.

Calepsin The theory for this collar is that if the owner can control the dog’s head, calepsin the body must follow the resulting movement. Calepsin When the leash is pulled, calepsin the halter closes the dog’s mouth and restrains his/her head.
Calepsin This is another collar that is not necessary for Puggle training as Puggles are not aggressive dogs and are not prone to lunging and biting.
Calepsin Electronic Collar – Just as the name implies, calepsin an electronic collar is designed to give the dog harmless shocks when he/she is exhibiting behaviors the owner disapproves of. Calepsin However, calepsin these collars have adjustable settings, calepsin and if the setting is too high, calepsin you can hurt the dog. Calepsin Therefore, calepsin this type of collar should only be used by experienced trainers and really isn’t necessary for a Puggle.
Calepsin As you can see, calepsin the above dog collars are too harsh for training a small dog like a Puggle.
